Rules of the engagement

Please be a aware that I always attend my lessons unless I have had a major problem which is very rare – so to reciprocate, I always expect my coaching clients to either call/text or email me as a matter of courtesy and urgency if for any reason they are unable to attend a lesson, providing me with at least 48 hour’s notice of a cancellation prior to the start time of their lesson.  As I am sure you are aware and fully appreciate, lost last minute lessons means that I am then unable to fit someone else into that time slot, which culminates in both wasted court time and reduces access for others – so unfortunately and in line with club rules the full lesson fee is chargeable in such situations.

Many thanks for your understanding in this regard.

''Steve helped re-launch my tennis game, after far too many lapsed years. Firstly correcting a few bad habits, then improving my serve considerably, and moving on to increasing the range of ground strokes.  He has a very relaxed and friendly style, and is just good fun to coach with''

Your on-court tennis assessment

As a recently joined member it is imperative that you are given as much information about the tennis department that is relevant to you and your standard of play so you can get on court at the earliest opportunity. My objective by the end of your 20 minute tennis induction assessment, should be that you walk away knowing the following information:

  • What is your standard and TENCAP rating and how do you register online.
  • When and how you can book a tennis court.
  • What group sessions are available for your standard and how you can book on.
  • How to join the box leagues and tournaments.
  • If you have children, how can you arrange their first academy taster session – free of charge.
  • What is the benefit of individual lessons and what you may need to work on during such lessons.
  • Who I could buddy you up with somebody of a similar TENCAP rating.

If you do not get all this information please check back with me.
